Christmas

One of the rare moments where we were able to get them in the same picture.  We chased them all over the house to try and get a Christmas card picture.  We ended up trapping them in the bathtub for the card picture.  They love all of the Christmas decorations and so far have pretty much followed the 1 finger touch rule with the tree.  They have not pulled it down yet!

Fall Fun

Some random pictures from the past couple of weeks.  We left the boys for the 1st time and went to Springfield, MO for an interview.  The boys stayed in St. Louis and had a blast playing with their cousins.  We enjoyed the two nights away!

Trip to the Beach

We had a busy weekend with the Battleship to the Beach Half Marathon and visiting friends in Wilmington.  We took the boys to Surf City.  They of course ran straight for the water and were kicking and screaming when we did not let them run in.  It was way too cold and windy!  They have at least now seen the ocean. They must have been worn out because they both fell asleep in the car on the way home...that is a first.  They have never been the kids that will sleep anywhere...especially not in the car.  They had their 15 month appointment this week and Brennan weighed 24 lb, 3 oz and Cohen weighed 23 lb, 2 oz.  They have completely opposite frames and personalities!  They are talking a bunch and it amazes me everyday how much toddlers understand.  They really are sponges.

Halloween

Making homemade costumes is not easy when you do not sew and the boys refuse to wear boxes.  We originally made them legos but the boxes were not a hit so we went with the fireman.  It did not take long for them to rip some of the velcro buttons off their coats and the lights on the top of the firetruck.  The boys had fun and even snuck in a few smarties behind our back.

Playing

We met twins that are 2 days older than Brennan and Cohen.  They had a blast playing at eating lunch together at the big table.

Neighborhood Halloween Party

Hmmm...are they sharing or stealing toys
Cohen is feeding his little friend cheerios.  He claps for himself when he shares or does something that we praise him for...it is too cute.
Brennan was the first one on the pony.  Cohen warmed up after he saw Brennan riding.

Touring the fire truck

State Fair & Halloween Bash

Feeding the animals at the NC State Fair.  These next couple of pics of Cohen crack me up.  He is always on a mission and do not get in his way.  He always has that serious look as if he is deep in thought.

Here he goes again.  Straight for the bouncy house at our community Halloween bash...and it was across the clubhouse from where we parked the stroller...there is no stopping him.

Playing Football

The boys had fun playing outside with Matt and Alicea.  They love being outside and life would be so much easier if we had a fenced in yard.  They are not quite adhering to "stop" or "stay here" and only run faster up the street when I say those words.  I am amazed everyday how much toddlers understand.  They are so much fun right now but a handful.  Cohen almost has a full set of teeth now...only 2 molars left.  And yep we still have not cut Brennan's hair...he is looking pretty shaggy.

Playing in the Sand

They love playing in the sand...and eating it...and throwing it.

When are they going to cut my hair so I can see what I am doing?

St. Louis

The boys checking out grandpa's skid steer.
The boys and their cousin Will.

The boys loved playing in the sandbox.  We may have to get one...it is the only thing that I have found that will keep them from running off in opposite directions.

Playing at the Park

The boys love being outside and the baseball field is the perfect spot.  They wear themselves out running around and are fenced in which makes it much easier to contain two very fast boys.  We took them to a park in Raleigh this weekend that had a carousel and a train.  They loved riding both and took a long nap after that outing.  They are using about 10 signs (eat, more, bath, bubbles, ball, milk, hat etc) and are saying some words (mama, dada, ball, duck, mailman).

Museum

The boys had fun at the Children's Museum in Chapel Hill.  They only lasted about 5 minutes in the "under 2" section before they took over the museum.  They wanted to do everything that the big boys were doing including knocking down and stealing their toys.

Random Pics

The boys recently started signing hat so we now are constantly putting their hats on their head...they take them off...they sign for hat...we put them on...they take them on...it does not take much to entertain 1 year olds.  Cohen loves to walk around with his hat covering his eyes...I guess it is fun to smack your head into the walls!

We brought the baby pool in to make our own ball pit but that did not last long.  Here is the before picture...Brennan is contemplating what to do next.
Here is the after picture.  Balls all over our house and one more thing for them to climb on.

One years old!

The boys turned 1 this past weekend.  We started the day taking them swimming in the pool at 7am...never thought I would be in the community pool during the wee hours of the morning. After their first nap we went to the Life and Science Museum in Durham.  We let them run wild in an enclosed play area but kept them contained in the wagon for the most part.  There was a farmyard and they both would have been in with the cows if we had let them loose.  A few friends came over later in the day and we let the boys have cookies and cake...which might explain why they talked in their cribs for 2 hours that night!

Summer Fun

Grandma came out to visit us this past week. We had a blast running around on the soccer field and swimming in the pool. We love playing outside and are starting to run from mom. She said something about buying us leashes for our birthday.

Hanging out with Uncle Matt and Alicea

We had a blast with Uncle Matt and Alicea this past weekend.
